Things To do

Sometimes we like to just sip a cup of tea and gaze out the window at the pastoral views…but there are plenty of choices of things to do, both indoors and out, as central Vermont offers a variety of activities and events at any time of year!
Feeling like a hike? Try Pine Hill Park with access and parking half a mile down the road. Or drive east on Route 4 to find the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail entrance. Your innkeeper likes walking the neighborhood and a 5K loop on picturesque McKinley and North Grove, just ask!
Ready for dinner? If you’re tired of driving, you can simply walk across the street to Baxter’s Restaurant but if you can tolerate 1.5 miles more, downtown Rutland offers ethnic (Italian, Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Thai) as well as West Street Grill and Southside Steakhouse.
Curious about the Arts in Rutland? Art museums right in downtown, restored estates in the region and Carving Studio and Sculpture Center should offer you some things to admire.

For everyone from the sports enthusiast to the lover of art and antiques to the foodie… for families, couples, groups and individual travelers, check out these and other possibilities!
